The Guide for the Gifted and Fearless

The Key To The ACT of Self-Love (It’s More Than A One-Time Thing)

I can never say that I’m not loved! Why? Because no matter what happens, no matter what I have or don’t have, no matter what anyone thinks of me, I love myself. When I have my own back and am my own supporter, my whole world changes.

When I was younger I would always try and be something that I wasn’t. That’s part of growing up for a lot of us. We’re learning ourselves, learning about others and starting to think about where we fit in this world. We’re more likely to believe what we’re told about life because we’re so new to it! And sometimes it can seem like others have more power than us, or have power over us because we don’t know yet that everyone is going through something. Now that I know that we’re all just humans trying to make this life worth it, I no longer have the idea that anyone is better than me. Meaning if someone else is living in their goals, I can live in my goals too.

I’m a human, so sometimes I take my L’s, but I always turn them into lessons.

OF COURSE I make mistakes, OF COURSE I have days where I’m not feeling my best, OF COURSE there’s room for me to grow, and STILL I wouldn’t want to be anyone other than myself. I’ve already spent so much time and energy on myself! So, if I’m going to be this person for my whole lifetime, I might as well see what she has to offer… which I learn more about everyday.

Loving myself isn’t a one-time thing that I do or say. It takes time and action! There are things I think, say, and do in every moment that is supportive of myself vs. doubting myself or making myself seem less-than. Since I am a long-term commitment, there are certain small things that I need to do now that add up and create a better life for myself later.

Invest in yourself.

We are an investment! What you put back into yourself if what you get out of your life. That’s why I update my Morning Gratitude daily. Everyday I write at least 5 things that I’m grateful for in myself and in my life. This helps me start my day off positive and it reminds me that no matter what happens I have at least 5 things to be grateful for. There is always something to be grateful for. Today I’m grateful for my kinky-coily hair, my fluffy, soft lips, and that my little aloe vera plant that I’ve had for a year now is still alive! I can see the difference in my days when I don’t keep in mind what I’m grateful for. If I don’t feel like anything in my life or about myself is something to be grateful for, there’s no way I’m going to get anywhere I want to be… how can I get somewhere if I have nothing?

BTW! I just posted a YouTube video about self-love on Wednesday. Go check it out! And don’t forget to like and subscribe!
