Breaking My Fast With An Avocado Smoothie Bowl

But not before drinking a ridiculous amount of water. I drank at least 32 oz. last night and at least 32 oz. this morning before eating anything so that my body would slowly bring itself back to life. That’s also why i’m reintroducing food with a smoothie bowl. I don’t want to shock my body back into digesting solids and jack up my whole metabolism, I want this fast (and coming out of it) to be a positive reboot for my system, not 48 hrs. of starvation + making myself sick.

So after AGUA, here’s the recipe for the smoothie bowl:

  1. half of one avocado
  2. one full banana
  3. about a fistful of raspberries
  4. one tsp. Spirulina
  5. fill the container (mine is the NutriBullet) 3/4 of the way with almond milk
  6. BLEND
  7. pour your smoothie into the bowl. Top it off with berries, chia, and a drizzle of local 100% pure honey. I put in about 3 drizzles of honey because I like sweets.

This is giving me protein, calcium, iron, it’s good for allergies, omega-3s.. and it was a yummy, filling way to break my fast. YAY!
