San Diego, May 2018

UCSD, Chicano Park.

“passion never dies, it lives your work. walking through Chicano Park, i feel the need for the culture’s survival. i know that we will live forever.”

the night before leaving to San Diego, i had a dream about the genocide of the black community by white supremacy. after leading my meditation class at UCSD, taking us through a visual journey of forgiveness (of self and others), after visiting and speaking with several campus cultural centers including the LGBTQIA center, the Cross Cultural Center, the Raza Resource Center and the Black Resource Center, after learning of the history of racism and the immediate clap back that followed, AND after walking through and witnessing the beauty and strength of Chicano Park, I KNOW THAT WE WILL LIVE FOREVER.
